Images & Sound Expands Sound Facilities

Images & Sound has expanded it's Sound Post offering by opening a new range of suites on the ground floor of it's 115 Grafton Road premises.

Adding to the exisiting facilities on the first floor, we have added a second Home Entertainment Dolby Atmos Mixing Theatre , a well as a new Foley Stage, Sound Design suite and Dialogue editing room.

New Zealand women’s success in film and television was once again celebrated at the WIFT Awards, held in February 2016 at the Grand Tearoom of the Heritage Hotel. We are proud to continue our support the awards, and the incredible achievements made by women in our industry.

It was a full-house and then some on Wednesday June 29 2016, when Images & Sound ran WIFT workshop “Conversations with a Colourist” for directors, producers and DOPs.

The “What’s Your State of Mind” campaign is aimed at breaking down stigmas around mental health and reminding people that it’s ok to seek help.

White Lies submitted for Academy Award

South Pacific Picture’s feature film White Lies directed by Dana Rotberg has been submitted by the NZ Film Commission as the official New Zealand entry for consideration in the category of Best Foreign Language film for the 86th Academy Awards as well as being selected to screen in the Toronto International Film Festival in the Contemporary World Cinema Programme.

Images & Sound launched its new boutique sound mixing theatre to a group of the country’s most influential film industry icons. Designed by Tim Farrant to Theatrical specifications, the purpose built sound mixing theatre features a 32 fader dual control mixing desk combined with three Protools systems, a top of the line surround sound Genelec digital speaker system and a high definition projector with 4 meter screen, perfect for cinematic projects destined for theatrical or broadcast release.

Winner announced for Images & Sound’s ‘Geoff Evans Memorial Prize’.

Film, Television and Media Studies graduate Beyond Wen has won the annual Images and Sound ‘Geoff Evans Memorial Prize for Excellence in Screen Production’. His winning film The Education of Ming Ming is a comedy about an eight year old girl with an incredibly busy daily schedule supposed to help her achieve a “bright bright future”. Film-maker Beyond was inspired by some friends whose own childhood experiences were very similar to that of the main character Ming Ming’s.

The Blue Rose

The Blue Rose, from the makers of Outrageous Fortune and The Almighty Johnsons – South Pacific Pictures.

The series reunites those Outrageous West sisters, Antonia Prebble and Siobhan Marshall and is set in an inner city law firm. They are leaders of the Society of the Blue Rose, a group of PA’s and computer nerds who swear to fight for justice and fairness, even if hey sometimes have to break the law to do so.
