As the senior drama and film Sound Mixer here at Images & Sound, Tom draws on his vast experience and inspirational ideas to bring his projects to life. “I love what I do. I love the different challenges each and every project presents me with and I love discovering new ways to resolve them while delivering my clients a result they’re proud of.”
After experiencing the music industry as a keyboard player touring North America and Europe in the 90’s, Tom decided to pursue a career in a medium he’d become totally passionate about and in 2000 he graduated top of the class with a Diploma in Audio Engineering.
“Playing, recording, editing, mixing various instruments together to create a story or an audio landscape are all fundamental functions of both the music and film industries.”
Tom has been recognised for his talents with 5 award nominations over the past 7 years culminating in a win at the Qantas Film & Television Awards in 2010 for Kaitangata Twitch.
“My career at Images&sound has been wide and varied with stand out projects being This Is Not My Life, Doves of War, Kidnapped, Boy, God Machine…these, and all other projects I’ve worked on, stick with me for the challenges involved in bringing the clients vision to life.” And Tom still enjoys keeping his hand music engineering working alongside artists as diverse as Don McGlashan, and Sola Rosa, recording and mixing albums and film scores.
