The release of My Wedding and Other Secrets brought with it the need to deliver to New Zealand cinemas on 35mm and a full studio standard Digital Cinema Package (DCP).  Images & Sound took it upon themselves to acquire the technology so the DCP and hard drives could be produced. Trailers were also delivered digitally as well as on 35mm.

Now with the release of Billy T: Te Movie, Love Story by  and Florian Habicht and The Most Fun You Can Have Dying, written and directed by Kirstin Marcon and produced by Alex Cole-Baker; Images & Sound has become Auckland’s leading post facility for DCP distribution in New Zealand.   

Christine Massey, National Sales Manager for Sony Pictures says,  “Anyone not fully digital in the next 2/3 years will have trouble accessing 35mm prints from the major distributors.  Used 35mm prints will quickly be a thing of the past, and new 35mm prints will probably not be commercially viable to supply to small exhibitors.”
